It's the only way to explain the insanity.
Today, I signed up for a half marathon.
That's right... my first half marathon and my first olympic triathlon all in the same year. GAH.
I'll be running the Geist Half Marathon on May 22 with my college roommate, Jess. This is super scary for me because I have NEVER in my life run further than 6 or 7 miles. It's scary because I have no idea if I'll actually be able to do this.
Training starts at the end of February. Only time will tell if this will happen. In the meantime, I'm going to concentrate on building up a little distance, and trying not to injure myself.
On a different note, Ryan and I's weight loss challenge seems to be going well. I'm not sure how much weigh he has lost, and I can't officially post how much I've lost, but I think we are both going steady. Plus, Tri Dave and his girlfriend have decided to join the fun! Now it's not just a competition between boyfriend and girlfriend, but a competition between bloggers from halfway across the country!
Bring it, Ryan. Bring it, Dave.

Woo hoo, way to go on the half marathon sign-up. You'll have a great time (and maybe sign up for a marathon next year). Congrats on the weight loss, beat those boys.
Go big or go home! Must be your motto for 2010! Check out www.halhigdon.com for a great novice training program!
Awesome way to get really serious about running....put some money down on a race!
Best of luck, you'll make it!
Yes! Bring it on. Ryan and I are going to take down the women!
NICE! that is soooo awesome.
Congrats on signing up for a half marathon. You can do it!! And it will be so awesome when you finish.
The weight loss competition and it's new challengers is awesome! I can't wait to read about the results! Is it really gals v guys? Or couple v couple?
Kelly, I am the girlfriend of Tri Dave... I am waiting patiently for my home cooked meal on 3/8 – the anniversary of our first date. I can’t wait to hear about Ryan is going to make for you. I’ll share with you the meal that Dave prepared.
Sweet! I think you'll do great. Plus, once you run 7 miles, you can do 13. Well, at least that's what they told me about 26.2 and 13 miles. I say they lie... ;)
