Lesson Learned

I should listen to myself.

My inner-Kelly knows that training should be the VERY first thing I do every morning... especially on days when I work the evening shift.

But I don't listen to her cause she's stupid and talks too much.

Instead, I eat breakfast. And I watch TV. And I read blogs. And I try to make a doctor's appointment.

Then what do I realize? Oh. Right. That I no longer have TIME to train. Or that it's now 15 degrees hotter and 90% more humid. Or that I'm lazy and full of cereal. None of which would have been issues if I'd just done it when I first got up.

So that's today's lesson, boys and girls... training comes first.

Only six days until my next race. I feel unprepared (but can't determine if it's more or less prepared than I felt for my last race). I know I can finish the race just fine. Now, I'm just getting nervous about the weather. It's been VERY hot and humid here the past few days. I don't want to see that in Indianapolis.

Man, how true is that! I would be HORRIBLE about this if I didn't have a 'normal' work schedule.

I don't know how you do it!

That's right first things first... esp when it comes to training!

I easily find myself spending the first hour of my day on "blogs" and "facebook".....gotta get my fix!

Well, you have the right attitude! I always feel really good when I train in the morning, too. :)
