Today Was...

... a great day!

1) I spend the afternoon at the local animal shelter. I played with an adorable Border Collie/Beagle mix named Ozzie who wanted me to take him home with me.

But he'll have to wait. I know I should hold off until Ryan can go dog-hunting with me, but I just can't help myself! They are all so irresistible!

2) I received SECOND PLACE for my triathlon essay! The finished anthology is now available for only FIVE dollars! Here is a little excerpt to peak your interest...

"I’m going to run a triathlon,” I said. I wasn’t even sure that “run” was the correct term. Swim? Bike? “I’m going to collapse a triathlon” seemed like a closer bet. At the moment I told them, I was pretty sure my family and boyfriend thought I was crazy—and I was very sure they had doubts about my ability to follow through. After all, “I’m going to lose weight” and “I’m going to work out more” never seemed to come to fruition in the past. And here I was—training for a triathlon with the solitary hope of finally accomplishing those two goals. My sheer self-will was no longer enough to get me off the couch and to the gym. I needed a goal to push me along, so I chose to do a triathlon. It seemed exotic and dangerous and out of my league, but I’ve never been one to shy away from a challenge.

So go! Go buy it now!

3) A couple days ahead of schedule, I directed the entire 10 o'clock news on my own. And it was absolutely flawless. Ahhhhh. It's so nice to be good at what you do!

I hope everyone else is having as good a week as I am. Ryan moves in tomorrow!

Isn't it just a great feeling when everything comes together. Do you research on the dog, but I would wait. Let Ryan think he has some say in the matter.

I'm not a dog person, so to speak, don't hate them, just have always had cats in my life, but your guy looks really cute and he looks like he's ready to be your friend!
Congrats on the book thing and sounds like the job is awesome!

That is so great that everything is coming into place. I'm not a dog guy, and even I'll admit that the dog in the pic is pretty fun.
