Scheduling

It's tough. I used to live in a town by myself where I had, essentially, no friends. I worked 2pm-11pm every day, so finding time for my workouts was no issue.

But now I live with my boyfriend and my dog, and my work schedule is odd (2pm-11pm Monday and Tuesday, 10am-6pm Wednesday, 8am-5pm Thursday and Friday). So now I'm finding it difficult.

I haven't even had time to go sign up for the Y (which is RIGHT across the street!). I've only worked out twice this month, and my weight is suffering.

My triathlon is coming up in only 2 1/2 weeks. JEEZ. By the time I get up and moving, it'll be time to taper!

My Dad is doing far better than I at the moment. From what I hear, he's working out almost every single day.

I wish I had a little time to get into my work schedule and get our dog used to my work schedule and get Ryan into his work schedule. But I don't have that luxury. I barely have time to blog.

Maybe I'll set my alarm for 5:30 tomorrow. Other people do that, right? Workout before work? I might try it... but I might also crash at my desk around 1pm if I do.

I need to just keep telling myself... 2 1/2 weeks! 2 1/2 weeks! 2 1/2 weeks! First tri of 2009, and I don't want to completely drown in the lake!

Wow, that does sound like a tough schedule to keep up with. Hang in there, you'll find a groove.

Sorry, but as a member of your "mature" audience, I'm going to have to cheer for your dad this time. (and perhaps this will add to your "beat dad" motivation). Good luck with finding time to train and lets make this competition interesting :)

I'm betting on the mature ex tight end/pitcher over the 400 hurdler. What kind of odds do I get? Opa

You'll settle into your schedule; everything is just very new right now. I mean, c'mon, who else moves to a new city, gets a new job, moves in with a BOY, gets a dog AND starts training for a triathalon - all in the same very short time span! That's a lot of changes all at once for one girl!
You can do it. Wake up a little ealier, it will get easier. And it's so nice to have your workout out of the way.

I hear ya... I agree with Adam. I do know that making adjustment can be quite difficult. Once you make those kind of adjustment, it will get easier. It will all blend in and work out nicely.

that's a tough schedule! your dad=hardcore!!! 5:30 a.m. is like the middle of the day to SOME people (see above).

think of this tri as just a training session--that's what I'm doing with mine on sunday that I am ILL-PREPARED for!
