Weight Loss Challenge

Let's call this the picture that started it all:



That is me at some random party in college. It was taken April 21, 2006.

I was browsing through old photos the other day when I came across this one. And my jaw dropped. I couldn't ever remember being that skinny. What's ironic is I could almost put money on the fact that even then, I was complaining about how I looked.

So this ends NOW.

5 years from now, I can look back at 2009 photos and either say, "Wow, I was so much skinnier then!" or laugh and say, "Good thing I nipped THAT in the bud!"

People get all uncomfortable and touchy when you talk about weight. So, fine... it's not about "weight"... it's about "health." I mean, a word is a word as long as you're aiming for the same goal.

But I can confidently state that there was a time in the past 5 years where I was twenty five pounds lighter than I am now. That's a LOT.

So here it goes... in order to be held accountable, I need to admit how much I weigh (boyfriend, look away now... I don't want you know that I weight more than you!).

So my mom has put me up to a challenge... lose 15 pounds before my cruise (January 25th). That's 12 weeks to get down to 149, and then a week to show it off in a bikini.

I'm not gonna pretend this will be easy. I don't really enjoy working out, and I hate most healthy foods. But I can't go on like this... slowly adding pound by pound for the rest of my life.

In order to stay focused, I will (try to) post my weight here every day in the right margin. I figure if I can go from couch potato to triathlete in 3 months, I can do this. It's all about determination.

This doesn't end now... it's starts now.

Good luck!

I've been calorie counting a bit this past week in an effort to even things out a bit (reduced training load + same food load = bad). I found after a few days it's not too bad. Turkey and chicken is your friend. :)

GOOD LUCK CHICA!! Just remember . . it's OK if you have setbacks from time to time. It's not all or nothing ;-) Keep getting back on the path and you'll get to where you need to be.

Your LeRoy Oma has done it forat least 50 years, starts every Monday. She preaches it but is a cheat eater. Remember if it tastes good it isn't good for your waist etc. LeRoy Opa
